"My Other Garden" - by Harold McBride

Not far from our home is the half acre oakwood  where I walk each morning. The oak trees there were grown from acorns of Irish native oak from Belvoir.
I pla
nted these wood anemones  among the trees over the last 10 to 12  years.   As you can see  they really enjoy the natural conditions  of a closed summer canopy and deep leaf litter.
They have spread and multiplied over time, though a few have been dug up by the public, especially the yellows and  pinks.

Anemone nemorosa also mixes well with other woodlanders, including erythroniums, in my home garden - but that's another story.
