Scoliopus bigelovii - by Gordon Toner
Scoliopus bigelovii (Liliacea) is a small rhizomatous plant. It is native to coastal Northern California, where it grows in very wet habitats on mossy stream banks and moist shady forests

It requires the same soil as trilliums, and I grow it in a peat bed with leafmould, but well drained. It flowers in early spring, purple and green star shaped flowers. I haven't grown it outside yet, but it is quite hardy.
